Signature Custom Built Homes understands that finding a builder is not always easy. How do you interview a builder? There are questions you should ask a builder prior to hiring them. Here are Signature Custom Built Homes ' answers to those important questions.

1. How accessible is the builder?
Because offering the finest in personalized attention and Customer Service is our primary goal, we can be reached via our cell phones any time day or night. We have a rule that any phone message is returned within the hour.

2. Will the Builder be onsite?
We are onsite everyday. Finishing your home on time and perfectly is what we are there for. Being onsite allows us to foresee any potential problems before they occur. We also give the homeowner weekly updates of happenings on the jobsite.

3. Are you really a "custom" Builder?
Signature Custom Built Homes is a true Custom Builder-Your home is built to order with all your choices not ours. We have architects and designers to help you along the way but ultimately we build YOUR home.

4. How do we find a Lot to build on?
Grace is a licensed Realtor who knows the northwest suburbs; we also have contacts in the real estate industry throughout the Chicago land area and can connect you with a knowledgeable broker.

5. Will you build on our lot?
Absolutely.

6. We already have an architect; can we work with him if you build our home?
Yes, we are more than happy to work with your architect. We also work closely with local architects if you are searching for one.

7. Can I tour homes you have built?
Yes. We have satisfied home owners who are more than happy to show their houses to potential Signature Custom Built Homes' customers. We can also provide you with addresses of homes to drive by.

8. Do you hire Subcontractors?
At Signature Custom Built Homes we realize that not everyone can do everything so we do not cross-train our craftsmen. We believe that in order to build a quality custom built home each craftsman must be trained in his/her specialty. We take pride in teaming with true craftsman that have been trained and have honed their skills.

9. Do you warranty your work?
We offer a one year warranty. We make it a habit to call our homeowners every 90 days during the warranty year to make sure everything is to their satisfaction. We are always happy to help after the warranty expires.

10. How long will it take to build our home?
The size of the home, the detail and intricacy are all factors in the construction timeline. Generally the construction of a new home is 5 months.

11. Will weather be a factor in the building process?
In recent years there have been many changes in technology that allow for construction to proceed during cold periods.
